Chesser Resources recognises that managing our impacts on the environment is a crucial part of our business now and into the future. As a consequence, we will seek to meet or exceed all national guidelines and legislation relating to the environment, as well as adhering to all internationally-accepted standards of practice in cases where they exceed national guidelines.

Our exploration activities can be located in environmentally sensitive locations, which require that our activities are carefully managed in accordance with the principles of sustainable development and in compliance with all local laws and regulations. We share an understanding of sustainable development that is now widely accepted by governments and communities; that is, development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

For an exploration company this means that our exploration activities should be environmentally sound and socially responsible.

We are committed to carrying out our exploration and project development activities in line with leading industry practices. Our approach to environmental management includes:

• An integrated Health, Safety, Environment and Community Policy
• Environmental management systems in place
• Implementation of comprehensive environmental monitoring programs
• At each of our projects, development of plans for exploration, operation, closure and reclamation which minimise our impact on the environment
• Promotion of the efficient use of energy, materials and other resources and reuse and recycling as far as economically justifiable at the our operations.
• Compliance with all local laws and internationally accepted standards of practice
• Providing sponsorship for community initiatives that deliver environmental benefits for local stakeholders
• Clear communication of this policy to our employees, contractors and suppliers, including sufficient training to ensure that they are adequately equipped to carry out their work in compliance with our environmental guidelines
• Ensuring continuous improvement in our environmental performance through the application of periodic, systematic internal audits and implementation of recommendations arising from these audits.
